Important Notice:

Wood is a natural material that inherently features imperfections, textures, and knots, which contribute to the unique look and feel of the print. These natural characteristics may be visible in various elements of your print, including faces in pictures, and cannot be entirely avoided.

We now offer full colour printing onto wood. Using super high quality grade B/BB birch plywood. This offers a fantastic alternative to other medias.

Please note:

Due to the processes printing onto wood required in cutting the Birch Ply we have a tolerance of +/- 1mm - Please try to avoid thin borders and objects close to the edge as this exaggerates any small movements.

Possible issues printing onto wood:

Unlike paper which is very consistent, our birch ply has various colours of the wood flowing though it. This adds to the effect of the print and final finish but can also place unwanted flecks or specks of grain in areas which you may not want them ie. on faces within eyes or nose or in areas of print where the design makes them obvious. If you want to avoid this then please use the spot or flood white ink printing options where a layer of white ink is laid down by the printer under neath the colour which adds a blockout effect to stop the texture showing through.

White Under-Print: We print a layer of white ink beneath your design. This ensures colors stay vibrant and "pop" while the unprinted areas still showcase the beautiful natural wood texture.
What thickness is the plywood?
Our standard plywood boards are available in $6\text{mm}$, $12\text{mm}$, and $18\text{mm}$ thicknesses. The $6\text{mm}$ version is popular for lightweight wall art and menus, while the $18\text{mm}$ option provides incredible rigidity for freestanding structural displays and premium furniture-grade signage.
