Versatile Self-Adhesive Vinyl Solutions

Transform any surface into a branding opportunity with our comprehensive range of Adhesive Vinyls and Films. From short-term promotional decals to long-term architectural wraps, we provide high-definition, digitally printed vinyl tailored to your specific environment. Whether you need to catch the eye of a passerby through a shop window or rebrand an entire fleet of vehicles, our self-adhesive materials offer the perfect blend of ease and professional durability.

Understanding Vinyl Grades: Which One Do You Need?

Choosing the right vinyl is essential for the longevity of your project. We categorise our films into three primary grades:

  • Monomeric Vinyl (Economy): Best suited for flat, indoor surfaces or short-term outdoor use (up to 3 years). It is the most cost-effective option for temporary sales, event graphics, and point-of-sale stickers.

  • Polymeric Vinyl (Mid-Range): A "pro-grade" choice for outdoor signage and slightly curved surfaces. With added plasticisers to prevent shrinkage, these films typically last 5–7 years and are perfect for long-term window graphics and exterior boards.

  • Cast Vinyl (Premium): The ultimate high-performance film. Thin, flexible, and "memory-free," Cast vinyl is designed for 3D surfaces and vehicle wraps. It won’t pull back from recesses or rivets and offers a lifespan of up to 10 years.

Specialist Finishes and Applications

Beyond standard white and clear vinyl, we offer a variety of specialist films to solve unique display challenges:

  • Window Graphics: Including "One-Way Vision" (perforated) film, frosted "etched glass" effects for privacy, and static clings for residue-free temporary displays.

  • High-Tack Vinyl: Specifically engineered for "difficult" surfaces like brickwork, concrete, or low-energy plastics where standard adhesives might fail.

  • Floor Graphics: Certified slip-resistant vinyl designed for high-traffic retail environments and social distancing markers.

  • Lamination Options: Protect your prints from UV fading and physical abrasion with our choice of Matte, Gloss, or Anti-Graffiti over-laminates.

At Colour Graphics, we use eco-solvent and UV-stable inks to ensure your graphics remain vibrant and crisp. With custom contour cutting available on all orders, we can produce your vinyl in any shape or size, from tiny product labels to massive wall murals.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between "Permanent" and "Removable" adhesive?
Permanent adhesive is designed to bond strongly over time, making it difficult to peel off without heat or chemicals—ideal for long-term signage. Removable adhesive allows the vinyl to be peeled away cleanly (usually within 6–12 months of application) without leaving sticky residue behind, making it perfect for temporary promotions.
Can I apply these vinyls myself?
Small-to-medium decals are very DIY-friendly. We recommend the "wet application" method for larger window graphics to avoid air bubbles. For complex projects like vehicle wraps or large wall murals, we suggest professional installation to ensure a seamless finish.
Is the vinyl waterproof and UV resistant?
Yes. All our adhesive vinyls are waterproof. For outdoor use, we recommend adding a laminate. This acts as a "sunscreen" for your print, protecting the ink from UV rays and preventing scratches, which significantly extends the life of the graphic.
What does "Air Release" or "Easy Apply" technology mean?
Many of our premium vinyls feature a "honeycomb" or micro-channel structure in the adhesive layer. This allows trapped air to escape during application, virtually eliminating bubbles and creases—even for non-professionals.
Can I get clear vinyl with white ink printing?
Absolutely. We offer white ink technology, which allows us to print "white under-floods" or "spot white" on clear vinyl. This ensures your colours stay opaque and vibrant when applied to glass, rather than looking translucent.
Will the vinyl damage my paintwork?
When applied to factory-cured paint in good condition, our vinyls (especially Removable or Cast grades) should not damage the surface. However, we do not recommend applying high-tack vinyl to flaky or poorly bonded paint, as it may lift the surface during removal.
How do I prepare a surface for vinyl application?
The surface must be "squeaky clean." Use a lint-free cloth and an alcohol-based cleaner (like Isopropyl Alcohol) to remove all grease, wax, and dust. Avoid using household glass cleaners like Windex, as they often contain silicone which prevents the adhesive from bonding.
