Premium Rigid Signage Solutions for Every Environment

Whether you are looking to brand a high-end retail storefront, guide visitors through a busy construction site, or create a professional gallery display, our Rigid Signage range offers the perfect substrate for every project. At Colour Graphics, we combine state-of-the-art UV flatbed printing technology with industry-leading materials to ensure your message is delivered with razor-sharp clarity and long-lasting durability.

Choosing the Right Substrate

Navigating the world of rigid boards can be complex, but we’ve curated a selection that covers every possible application:

  • Foamex (PVC Foam): Our most popular all-rounder. Lightweight yet surprisingly rigid, Foamex is the go-to for exhibition panels, point-of-sale displays, and medium-term outdoor signage. Available in various thicknesses 3mm, 5mm, and 10mm, it offers a smooth, matte finish that brings colours to life.

  • Dibond (Aluminium Composite): Engineered for the toughest conditions. Composed of two aluminium skins bonded to a polyethylene core, Dibond is the gold standard for permanent outdoor shop fascia signs and industrial wayfinding. It is rust-proof, rot-proof, and won't warp in extreme heat.

  • Correx (Fluted Plastic): The cost-effective champion of temporary signage. Ideal for estate agent "For Sale" signs, site safety boards, and event directional signage, Correx is waterproof and easy to install with cable ties or screws.

  • Acrylic (Perspex): For when aesthetics matter most. Our high-gloss acrylic boards provide a premium "glass-look" finish. Frequently used for reception branding and architectural signage, we can print your design on the reverse (sub-surface) for added depth and protection.

Precision Finishing and Customisation

We don't believe in "one size fits all." Every rigid sign we produce can be custom-cut to any shape using our precision CNC routing technology. From simple rounded corners to complex logo contours, your imagination is the only limit.

Our UV-stable inks cure instantly during printing, creating a scratch-resistant, weatherproof bond. For environments where your signs might face heavy physical contact or high-intensity sunlight, we offer additional anti-graffiti or gloss laminations to extend the lifespan of your investment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the most common materials for rigid signs?
We offer a range of industry-standard substrates to suit different environments: Correx (Fluted Plastic): Best for temporary outdoor use (e.g., estate agent signs). Foamex (PVC Foam): A smooth, versatile board ideal for indoor displays and medium-term outdoor signs. Dibond (Aluminium Composite): The "gold standard" for permanent outdoor signage; extremely rigid and rust-proof. Acrylic (Perspex): Provides a high-end, glossy finish perfect for office branding and prestigious reception signs.
Which material is best for long-term outdoor use?
For permanent outdoor installations, Dibond (Aluminium Composite) is the superior choice. It is comprised of two aluminium sheets bonded to a polyethylene core, making it completely weatherproof, resistant to temperature fluctuations, and highly durable against wind.
Can I get my rigid signs cut to a custom shape?
Yes. Using our advanced CNC routing technology, we can "contour cut" your signs to almost any shape. Whether you need a circular logo, a life-sized character cutout, or unique directional arrows, simply provide a cut path in your artwork.
What is the difference between Correx and Foamex?
Correx is a corrugated "fluted" plastic. It is very lightweight and inexpensive, making it the go-to for temporary events or construction site boards.Foamex is a solid PVC board with a smooth, compressed surface. It is heavier and more professional-looking than Correx, making it better for exhibition panels and retail signage.
Are these signs printed directly onto the board?
We use high-definition UV flatbed printers to print your designs directly onto the substrate. This process ensures the ink bonds perfectly to the material, resulting in a scratch-resistant, fade-resistant finish that doesn't require additional lamination for standard use.
How do I install my rigid signage?
Correx/Foamex: Can be easily drilled and screwed, or attached with heavy-duty velcro/double-sided tape for indoor use. Dibond: Usually drilled and mounted to walls or fixed to posts using specialized rail systems. Acrylic: Often installed using "stand-off" chrome or satin spacers to create a 3D effect away from the wall.
Is rigid signage recyclable?
Many of our materials are recyclable. Correx and Dibond (once the core and skins are separated) are widely accepted at recycling centers. We also offer eco-friendly alternatives like Karton or Honeycombed cardboard for short-term indoor displays that are 100% plastic-free.
