This cotton-like, ultra soft but durable polyester fabric has a subtle pile that adds an elegant but cosy feel to upholstery, cushions, drapery and wall hangings. An uncoated product, it is suitable for paper sublimation. Please note textile widths will vary +/- 2% from batch to batch due to variances in finishing/processing.What exactly is soft-touch canvas? Soft-touch canvas is a high-grade polyester textile that has been mechanically "brushed" to create a subtle pile. This process gives the material an ultra-soft, cotton-like feel similar to velvet or moleskin. Unlike traditional coarse canvases, this fabric is designed for tactile comfort while maintaining the durability required for home furnishings and wall art. How does it differ from standard artist canvas? Standard artist canvas is usually a stiff, primed material with a visible "weave" texture, often finished with a gesso coating. Soft-touch canvas is a flexible, uncoated textile with a velvety surface. While standard canvas is best for structured frames, soft-touch canvas is superior for applications where movement and touch matter, such as cushions, throws, and draped wall hangings. Can soft-touch canvas be printed with high-detail graphics? Yes. Soft-touch canvas is an exceptional substrate for dye-sublimation printing. Because the ink is turned into a gas and infused directly into the polyester fibers, the print becomes part of the fabric itself. This ensures that the colors are incredibly vibrant and, crucially, that the signature "soft touch" feel is not affected by the ink.
