Poly-Panama Slub is a heavy-duty polyester textile featuring a classic "Panama" (basketweave) structure. The "slub" refers to intentional, slight irregularities and thicker knots in the yarn, which mimic the organic, rustic appearance of natural linen or hand-loomed cotton. It offers a high-end, textured aesthetic while retaining the durability and easy-care properties of polyester. Does the "slub" texture affect the print quality? Not at all. In fact, many designers prefer it. While the surface isn't perfectly flat like a standard poplin, our Poly-Panama Slub is optimized for dye-sublimation printing. The ink penetrates the textured highs and lows of the weave, creating a multi-dimensional, "boutique" look that is far more sophisticated than prints on smooth, synthetic surfaces. Is Poly-Panama Slub suitable for upholstery? Yes, it is a highly robust "contract-grade" fabric. With a typical weight of $300\text{gsm}$ to $400\text{gsm}$, it is exceptionally hard-wearing. It features a high Martindale rub count, making it a favorite for dining chairs, ottomans, headboards, and heavy-duty scatter cushions that need to withstand daily use without pilling.
