A very light, floaty fabric that is semi translucent and silky smooth. This 100% polyester has a beautiful drape and superb finish making it highly suitable for scarves, fashion and clothing. It is an uncoated textile designed for paper sublimation printing. Please note textile widths will vary +/- 2% from batch to batch due to variances in finishing/processing.What is Poly-Georgette and how does it achieve a "silk-look"? Poly-georgette is a lightweight, semi-sheer fabric made from 100% polyester. It mimics the "silk-look" by replicating the signature grainy, crinkled texture and fluid drape of genuine silk georgette. The result is a matte-finish fabric that flows gracefully with body movement, offering a luxurious aesthetic at a more accessible price point. Is Poly-Georgette see-through? Yes, it is a semi-translucent fabric. It is less transparent than chiffon but more sheer than standard crepe. This makes it perfect for layering, creating "peek-a-boo" sleeves, or as a delicate overlay for wedding gowns and evening wear. For garments like skirts or bodices, a lining is typically used to provide full opacity. How does the texture feel compared to other fabrics? Poly-georgette has a distinctive "dry" and slightly grainy (crepe) hand-feel. This texture comes from the use of highly twisted yarns in the weaving process. This gives the fabric a "bouncy" quality and a better grip than slippery satin, making it easier to handle during sewing and drape into complex silhouettes.
