Contra Vision Perforated window film products transform glass with one-way vision graphics which cannot be seen from the other side. The graphics are used for advertising, branding or to achieve decorative effects. These films  provide privacy and solar control benefits to people inside buildings and vehicles without blocking their view outside. This Contra Vision product is for applying externally to the window.

How does perforated window film work?

The Contra Vision perforated window film effect is most commonly achieved by applying a self adhesive window film to the glass. The film contains areas of printed graphic (a print pattern) as well as unprinted see-through areas covering up to 80% of the film. When looking at the side with graphics, the eye is drawn to the printed colours as they reflect more light than passes through the see-through areas (provided the lighting on the outside is brighter than the inside). The secret behind the one-way vision effect is ensuring the printed graphics are obscured or hidden from the other side of the glass. This is best achieved by having a black "backing" which covers exactly all the printed areas on the film without blocking the see-through (unprinted) areas. When looking through the reverse side of the Contra Vision, the view coming through the film is dominant because the black layer absorbs light and is less apparent to the eye.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is ContraVision Perforated Window Film?
ContraVision is a specialized "one-way vision" perforated vinyl. It features thousands of tiny holes (usually a 60/40 or 70/30 ratio of film to holes). From the outside, the human eye focuses on the bright, high-definition printed graphic, making the window look solid. From the inside, the black adhesive side allows you to see through the glass as if it were a slight window tint.
Why should I choose External application over Internal?
External application is the preferred choice for maximum visual impact. Applying the film to the outside of the glass eliminates reflections from the window itself, ensuring your colors stay vivid and your message is readable even in direct sunlight. It also prevents "ghosting" images that can occur when viewing internal graphics through double-glazed units.
Does it provide privacy during the day and night?
ContraVision provides excellent daytime privacy. Because it is brighter outside than inside, people cannot see through the graphic. However, at night, the effect reverses: if your shop lights are on and it is dark outside, the interior becomes visible. For 24/7 privacy, we recommend using external floodlights to illuminate the graphic from the street.
